Golf programs for kids

James has been my coach now for around 6 years.  His skill and knowledge along with a patient and fun approach has continued to drive my love for the game.  With James’ help I became a single figure golfer by age 11 and made the U12 Victorian State Team for the last two years.  How good is golf!!

  • How can I enrol my child in the golfstudio junior golf academy, and what are the costs?
Enrolling your child in our golfstudio junior golf academy is a straightforward process. Simply visit our golfstudio junior academy page on our website. • What equipment does my child need to bring?
All equipment is supplied, however if students already own clubs, they're encouraged to bring them to each class. As there is an athletic component to each session students are asked to bring a water bottle.
  • What is the student-to-coach ratio in the academy?
Each class has a coach to student ratio of 1 to 6. As classes grow in size extra coaches are available to assist.
  • What qualifications do the coaches have?
Our coaching team are Accredited PGA Professionals with many years of experience working with junior golfers of all ages and experience including all ability students.
  • What happens if my child misses a scheduled class?
At golfstudio Junior Academy, we understand that schedules can be unpredictable and children may occasionally miss a class. To accommodate this, our Academy offers multiple class options throughout the week. If your child cannot attend their scheduled class, we provide the opportunity for them to join another class during the week to make up for the missed session. This flexibility ensures that your child won't miss out on valuable learning time and can continue to develop their skills consistently. Simply contact us ahead of time to arrange the make-up class.
  • Can my child trial a class before committing to the term program?
At golfstudio Junior Academy, we understand that parents want to be certain their child will enjoy a new activity before making a commitment. That's why we offer a free trial class for new students. This gives your child the chance to experience a class firsthand without any obligation. If your child enjoys the trial but you're still not ready to commit, we also offer single session tickets for each class. This flexible approach ensures that you can make an informed decision that's best for your child, without any pressure. Visit us to take advantage of these options and see why golfstudio is a great place for your child's golfing journey.
  • Can parents stay and watch their child during class sessions?
At golfstudio Junior Academy, we understand that parents would like to hang around and watch their child train. To accommodate this, we have a designated parent area where classes can be observed comfortably. However, we have found that student engagement is often stronger when parents are not in close proximity. Therefore, while you are welcome to stay and watch from the parent area, we recommend allowing your child to train independently to maximize their focus and development during the session.
  • What is the process for advancing through the different skill levels?
At golfstudio Junior Academy our junior golfers advance through levels by earning stickers for their bag tags and hats for each of the 9 levels. Parents receive term-end progress reports, ensuring clear communication on their child's achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Are there opportunities for my child to compete in golf tournaments?
Competitive play starts in the Train phase. Student's test their skills twice each term in a friendly, competitive setup using a 9 level tee system to track progress. After building a solid foundation, they move to the Perform and Compete phase on the full-length junior course, ensuring comprehensive skill development for advanced play.
